A New Summary Academy for Missouri Teachers

For over half a decade, every July, the Kinder Institute has hosted cohorts of 20 high school students on the fourth floor of Jesse Hall for our Constitutional Democracy Academy, a weeklong summer program focused on studying the history, theory, and application of the US Constitution. Starting in 2026, we’re expanding this program to include Missouri middle and high school teachers. Our inaugural Constitutional Democracy Academy for Educators (CDAE), a three-day professional development program focused on the complexities of the American founding, will officially launch on June 24 on the Mizzou campus in Columbia.

CDAE will include a series of seminars led by MU faculty followed by workshops designed to help teachers apply seminar content in their classrooms. Anyone interested can register using the link below, which will remain active until the program reaches capacity. CDAE is funded by a US Department of Education LEGACY grant and includes a stipend upon completion of the program. Accommodations and meals will be provided as well, and questions can be directed to Kinder Institute Education Program Coordinator Lauren Jackson, lauren.jackson@missouri.edu.
